Mountain rescue team helps walker who fell while descending Helvellyn

A walker was rescued from Helvellyn by Keswick Mountain Rescue Team after falling and possibly breaking their ankle.

Members of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were deployed on April 22 after they received a report from Cumbria Police that a walker had fallen while descending the Swirls path from Helvellyn. It was suspected that they had a broken ankle. A spokesperson said: "The team deployed and after an assessment of the man they administer some pain relief and splinted the leg before stretcher carry to the car park.

" The incident involved 15 team members and lasted one hour 12 minutes..
