'Movies on the Mountain': Vulcan Park kicks off film series event

Over four months, families and friends are invited to enjoy Birmingham's city skyline while watching classic films that are appropriate for all ages.

The Vulcan Park and Museum is kicking off its new "Movies on the Mountain" film series this week with "Matilda." Starting Friday, the park is offering the opportunity to watch a movie under the stars. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and anything else they need for a comfortable movie-viewing experience.

Concessions will be offered-- such as cotton candy, popcorn and treats from local vendors. Drinks for adults will also be available. Over four months, families and friends are invited to enjoy Birmingham's city skyline while watching classic films that are appropriate for all ages.
