“We proudly congratulate Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil on his appointment as Executive Director of the Miss Universe Organization,” the Miss Universe Thailand Organization posted on social media on Wednesday afternoon, April 23. On Tuesday, April 22, MUO announced that it is stripping Chuangsi of the placement she earned in last year’s pageant in Mexico after the Thai beauty was crowned as Miss World Thailand on the same day in Bangkok.
The Miss Universe Thailand post continued: “[Itsaragrisil’s] visionary leadership and unwavering dedication continue to elevate the standards of pageantry across the Universe.” The Thai personality founded the Miss Grand International pageant in 2013, and Itsaragrisil had always been vocal about rivaling the Miss Universe contest and plotting to dislodge it from its top position. Itsaragrisil’s official involvement with the Miss Universe Organization started in February when his Miss Grand International Public Co.

The 2025 Miss Universe pageant will be held in Thailand in November, with official activities scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya. It is still not yet clear what Itsaragrisil’s scope of authority will cover as executive director. Another Thai personality co-owns the Miss Universe Organization, JKN Global Group Head Anne Jakrajutatip who also sits as the pageant organization’s chair.
