NBA playoffs Lakers vs. Timberwolves live updates: Los Angeles hosts Minnesota for Game 1 of first-round series

It's been an interesting few months for the Los Angeles Lakers after the seismic Luka Dončić trade , but now comes the real test with the start of the NBA playoffs on Saturday. The 6-seed Minnesota Timberwolves (49-33) will look to play spoiler in this first-round series despite their underdog status , though Dončić, LeBron James and the rest of the 3-seed Lakers (50-32) should prove a tough matchup. The Lakers and Timberwolves have not met in the playoffs since a 2004 conference finals featuring Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett.
