Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), on Wednesday offered strong backing for the vision and long-term plans of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, a consortium that completed the acquisition of Shell Petroleum Development Company’s (SPDC) onshore oil assets in March 2025.While addressing a high-level delegation from Renaissance Africa Energy at the Nigerian Content Tower (NCT) in Swali, Yenagoa, Ogbe reassured indigenous oil and gas companies that the NCDMB would continue to foster an enabling environment for their growth.
He also stated that the Board’s management team would remain open to engaging with Renaissance Africa Energy’s counterparts whenever needed.Ogbe lauded the company’s focus on Nigerian Content and its ambition to expand into other African countries. He assured the delegation that NCDMB would provide a “double enabling environment” to support Renaissance’s growth both within Nigeria and across the continent.
The NCDMB boss further remarked on the promising future of Renaissance Africa Energy, citing the skilled professionals within the company who have held key positions at firms with established track records in the oil and gas sector.Earlier, Dr. Tony Attah, Managing Director and CEO of Renaissance Africa Energy, expressed gratitude for Ogbe’s warm reception.
He assured the Executive Secretary and the NCDMB management, “We are Nigerian Content – we’re wholly Nigerian.” On the company’s long-term goals, Attah outlined, “We invest in Nigeria, but we represent Nigerian Content across Africa..

Layi Fatona, Chairman of the Renaissance Group, recalled the strong support the NCDMB had provided to SPDC in the past and expressed the expectation that the newly formed company would continue to enjoy a productive relationship with the Board.Barr.
