Saif Ali Khan and the acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan are collaborating for the first time for the Hindi remake of Mohanlal starrer ‘Oppam’, a Malayalam thriller. I play a blind guy,” said Saif Ali Khan. While he kept the rest of the details under wraps, he called the collaboration “very exciting”. For the unversed, Oppam explores the life of a retired judge, who faces difficulty in protecting his daughter from a convict he imprisoned.
However, when he gets murdered, a man with visual impairment who’d been loyal to the judge, steps in to defend his daughter. Though the cast hasn’t been confirmed yet, it is being said that Bobby Deol will play the role of an antagonist. As soon as Saif Ali Khan announced his collaboration with Priyadarshan, audiences have been curious to see the result of their team up, and what they have in store! The actor plays the role of a suave con man, who is hired by a powerful crime lord, Jaideep Ahlawat. Beyond these two seasoned actors, the OTT spectacle also stars Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta in pivotal roles. Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, Jewel Thief is backed by Siddharth Anand and it is scheduled to release on Netflix from April 25.
