The team behind a new live music venue coming to a Suffolk town say they are "over the moon" as plans move "one step closer" to getting the town rocking. On Thursday, Mid Suffolk District Council approved plans to turn the former M&Co store in Ipswich Street, Stowmarket, into a new restaurant, bar and live music venue named The Live Lounge. Couple Nicole Watkins and Chris Collins will be opening the venue with their business partners and long-term friends Aaron and Jen Overson.
Nicole Watkins and Chris Collins say they hope to open the bar by mid-July if their plans are approved. (Image: Newsquest) They said: "We are over the moon. "We have worked so hard and ensured all bases were covered to get to here.
"We are now one step closer, and we can’t thank all the people who have worked with us on this journey so far enough." This comes after the team told this newspaper in March that they were determined to bring life back to their local community and are looking to invest more than £500,000 into the project. Aaron and Jen Overson will join Nicole Watkins and Chris Collins in running the venue.
