A historic Plain City landmark is being transformed into a vibrant new dining destination this summer. The Clocktower Kitchen + Bar will open in the space beneath the town’s iconic 1902 clock—a timepiece crafted by the same makers behind Philadelphia’s Independence Hall clock. The upcoming restaurant blends Plain City’s rich past with a modern, locally focused food experience.
Founded by hospitality veterans Benjamyn Greig, Shane Whitacre, and Chelsea Whitacre, the concept centers on elevated American cuisine made with ingredients sourced from Central Ohio farms and producers. Greig, formerly of High Bank Distilling Co. , joins forces with the Whitacres, who run Chef’s Table Columbus , to bring a chef-driven approach to both the kitchen and event planning.
In addition to the restaurant, the space will feature an upstairs venue for private dinners, weddings, and culinary events, plus a charming outdoor biergarten adorned with string lights. The Clocktower Kitchen + Bar is expected to open later this summer..
