A brand new yet-to-be-named restaurant with karaoke is preparing to debut later this year in Los Angeles at 800 S Western Ave . The new restaurant with karaoke is set to open in the Wilshire Center/Koreatown area following approval from the Los Angeles Planning Department. The establishment, which will occupy a 6,264 square-foot space in a mixed-use building at the corner of Western Avenue and 8th Street, will feature 24 karaoke rooms and 258 indoor seats.
The applicant and owner, Adam Moon of Moon Group, LLC , has requested permission to serve a full line of alcoholic beverages, with sales allowed from 11 a.m. to 2 a.
m., and the venue stays open until 4 a.m.
daily. This project is part of a larger 12-story mixed-use development that includes a hotel, apartments, and commercial space. During a public hearing, the applicant emphasized the project’s potential to enhance the local nightlife and dining scene, particularly in the increasingly popular Koreatown area.
Moon also outlined plans for extensive security measures, including patrols by security guards and surveillance cameras. However, some concerns were raised by residents about the impact of late-night alcohol sales on neighborhood safety. Despite these concerns, the applicant argued that similar establishments with similar operating hours have not created significant issues.
The Zoning Administrator is expected to review additional community support before making a final decision. This will be an excellent spot for this new restaurant, located in the heart of Koreatown, a popular area for dining and nightlife, and surrounded by shopping centers, such as Rodeo Galleria and Western Plaza across the street. The location offers strong visibility with street frontage on both Western Avenue and 8th Street, drawing in foot traffic.
It’s part of a mixed-use development with residential and hotel units, providing a built-in crowd. Koreatown is known for its nightlife and karaoke culture, making it the perfect fit for this type of venue. The area is well-connected with nearby commercial businesses and has plenty of parking.
