The integrated team offers safe accommodation, community support, counselling and more.

The contract, which can be extended until March 2030, comes at a time of significant developments in domestic abuse provision and response. The service has been a crucial support for nearly 6,700 people in Dorset affected by domestic abuse between 2020/1 and 2023/4, with 6,440 calls made to IDAS for help and advice. The new contract includes the existing service areas: safe accommodation for adults and children, community-based outreach, a 24-hour helpline and recovery programmes.

The contract also merges additional support commissioned after the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, providing a comprehensive service. Councillor Gill Taylor said: "The new service will deliver a range of support options for people and their families affected by domestic abuse in Dorset." Councillor Clare Sutton added: "With the addition of the work that the You Trust will be doing through this contract, we will be in a stronger position to help our families even further.

" Tonia Redvers, director of operations at the You Trust, said: "We are proud to work with a council that remains committed to tackling domestic abuse." The integrated team offers safe accommodation, community support, counselling and more..
