A family-owned veterinary group has opened a new Stoke-on-Trent practice promising "the very best five-star experience for pets". Harrison Family Vets have invested £500,000 in a 'cutting-edge' veterinary practice on Anchor Road Retail Park in Longton. The new practice aims to bring a totally unique experience to pets and their owners at affordable prices.
Managing director Tim Harrison explained: "We are pushing the boundaries when it comes to delivering the very best five-star experience for pets visiting our practices. "Every pet receives VIP treatment from the moment they arrive. With a pre-visit questionnaire that helps to understand pets likes and dislikes when visiting the vet, we ensure they receive a warm and personalised welcome.
" The practice features an innovative waiting area with bespoke pet pods designed to minimise stress and anxiety. Each pod, reminiscent of a first-class aeroplane cabin, offers a private space for pets and their owners, shielding them from the stress of facing other pets in a traditional waiting room. The pods include raised tables for cat carriers, pet remedy-sprayed towels to create a calming environment and cloud ceiling panels add to the soothing atmosphere.
To further enhance comfort, the waiting area incorporates stress-reducing features such as specialised lighting, white noise sounds and pheromone-induced scents. Owners can even choose a treat for their pet from the new treat station. Digital screens display pet welfare information, nutrition tips and light-hearted pet jokes to entertain and inform visitors.
Even the weighing scales are covered in grass so dogs can avoid the worry and discomfort of cold metal surfaces. Operations director Kristie Faulkner highlighted the increasing demand for independent veterinary services. She said: "With a large number of corporately owned practices in the country, Harrison Family Vets offers an independent, family-run alternative with exceptional care and service, but with affordable pricing.
Our approach has been well received in our seven other practices and we are excited to bring our unique offering to pet owners in Stoke." The new practice is wavering the usual £15 sign-up fee for the Total Wellness Plan for three months. Additionally, the practice is launching a special £15 vaccination promotion, which includes a full health check and a six-month follow-up appointment with a nurse.
