So, we've asked residents to completely avoid the play area," Dhengle said. Vatsala Khurana, another resident of Marvel Piazza, said: "We have instructed all our security guards to remain inside properly lit cabins during their night shifts and carry walkie-talkies. They've also been asked to patrol in pairs.
Those of us in the ground floors will also make sure doors are locked and pets stay inside at night." Umesh Warty, who lives in Oxy Beaumonde, another society close to the airport area, said: "We've now told people to avoid evening walks towards the area of the airport. Many enjoyed this walk, but that would have to stop for some time.
" Dr SK Mohapatra, current chairperson Marvel Piazza's society said after 9pm, members of the managing committee would also be making rounds of the premises to support their security personnel. "We will continue to maintain these safety protocols, until the authorities confirm the area is secure," said Dr Mohapatra said on Tuesday..
