The Northern Nigeria Youths Union has pledged to mobilize more than two million votes in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential contest. Chairman of the group, Abubakar Aliyu, made this known on Wednesday following a strategic meeting held in Jos, Plateau State. Speaking on behalf of the group, Aliyu noted that young people across the region are rallying behind the president due to visible developmental strides, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
“This commitment follows a well-attended gathering of dedicated youths—men and women—who are passionate about supporting Tinubu’s administration,” he said. “They recognize the president’s efforts in spearheading infrastructure and economic reforms, especially in the North.” Aliyu pointed to the ongoing construction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway as a key example of the president’s achievements.
He also claimed that prices of essential goods and fuel had begun to drop, attributing these changes to Tinubu’s policies. He emphasized that the union’s support is voluntary and non-partisan, boasting a membership base of over 65,000 youths, including both Muslims and Christians across all 19 northern states. “No one is paying us; this is born out of genuine patriotism,” he said.
“With our current numbers and ongoing efforts to encourage voter registration, we are confident we’ll secure more than two million votes for the president in the next election.” Aliyu assured that the union would intensify mobilization efforts as the election draws near, with a firm commitment to boosting voter turnout for President Tinubu..
