6 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Nuggets shooting guard Christian Braun fouled James Harden near midcourt. Harden took exception to the contact and exchanged words with Braun. Nuggets MVP candidate Nikola Jokić approached Harden from behind, and as Nuggets power forward Aaron Gordon entered the fray, Harden shoved Gordon.
That ignited a full-on hold-me-back, with Braun shoving Harden in the chest, Norman Powell shoving Braun in the back, Gordon contacting Powell in the face and Kris Dunn escalating the altercation by pushing Gordon while Gordon was being held back by Clippers center Ivica Zubac. It’s the second altercation of the series, as Powell was picked up by Jamal Murray in the third quarter of Game 2, resulting in technical fouls on Powell, Dunn and Braun. The Clippers entered Game 4 with a 2-1 series lead.
