NVIDIA is reporting launching its next-generation GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card first, and then weeks later, the monster GeForce RTX 5090 will be unleashed. That's according to leaker "kopite7kimi" who posted on X saying "RTX 5080 should be released first" to which "AGF" replied, saying "to be exact, they should be announced at same time with availability separated by (a) few weeks". I can't see NVIDIA unveiling its GeForce RTX 5080 first and then the GeForce RTX 5090 second, the launch would be the both of them at the same time with availability splitting over a few weeks making sense.

I'm sure that NVIDIA will want to make sure it has plenty of GeForce RTX 5080 graphics cards as they'll sell more units of those cards over the ultra-high-end RTX 5090. NVIDIA launched the GeForce RTX 3080 a couple of weeks ahead of the RTX 3090 at the time, while both cards were unveiled at the same time. We will probably see something similar with the launch of the Blackwell-based GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs.

GB203 details : NVIDIA's new GB203 "Blackwell" GPU is expected to feature a similar CUDA core count to the AD103 "Ada Lovelace" GPU inside of the RTX 4080, so we should have 96 SMs (Streaming Multiprocessors) and 12288 CUDA cores. We should have performance upgrades with the Blackwell GPU architecture, so expect 40-50% more performance over the AD103-based RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 SUPER. GDDR7 details : Samsung has its next-gen GDDR7 memory ready for NVIDIA, with GDDR7 memory speeds of 28G.
