Goodbye April, hello May. Looking forward to these flowers we were promised. In any case, it’s time to uncover some words! Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games.
It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.
Spoilers ahead. Here are some hints to help you solve today’s grid. Today’s Theme: My bad! Hint : Mishaps of movement or speech.
Clue: Imagine words to describe how you might trip and fall. Here are the first two letters of each word: BL ST FA SL TO SP WH Remember, spoilers ahead! Today’s spangram is: WHOOPSIEDAISY Here’s the full list of words: BLUNDER STUMBLE FALTER SLIP TOPPLE SPILL Here’s the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands Credit: Erik Kain Despite the rather daunting spangram, this wasn’t a particularly challenging Strands. I found STUMBLE almost instantly, and then FALTER right after that.
Once I had SLIP and TOPPLE, I noticed the ISY in the bottom left corner, and worked my way backward to find WHOOPSIEDAISY. From here, it was just a SPILL and a BLUNDER to victory. Huzzah! How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook .
