Port Adelaide midfielder Ollie Wines has been subbed out of his side’s AFL clash with Sydney due to a heart problem. The Brownlow medallist was taken out of the game at half-time on Sunday, replaced by Rory Atkins. It’s at least the fourth time in his career that Wines has been subbed out of a game because of what has been described in the past as “heart palpitations”.

It had previously happened once in 2020, and again in 2022. On Sunday, there was no discernable moment which flagged a problem, but the 30-year-old did not appear on the ground after half-time.
