Mould growth was also found in the store room when inspectors visited Nisa Local at Hunts End Court, Buckden . A report following the inspection on January 20, 2025, states that a coffee machine and fridges were dirty, while a sink was both dirty and obstructed.
A second sink in the WC was 'obstructed'. The Nisa was also found to have "no documented procedures in place". The manager of the business declined to comment.
A spokesperson for Co-op Wholesale, which was previously known as Nisa Retail and is partnered with Nisa shops, said: "At Co-op Wholesale, we take the standards and practices of all our retail partners extremely seriously. "While each store operates as an independent business and is not owned or directly controlled by Co-op Wholesale, we actively encourage all partners to uphold best practices across every aspect of their operations. "Our teams are engaging with this particular store to fully understand the findings of the report and will continue to offer support to ensure the highest standards are met moving forward.
