It seems like nearly every athlete is going to test the transfer portal water these days, so there's something to say about the kid who doesn't go that route and stays at a school for four straight years. That's the case for Oregon Ducksdefensive back Dontae Manning, who just signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL draft wrapped up.Once a five-star recruit, Manning played in nearly every game at Oregon from 2021-24.
He played in 54 of a possible 57 games during that period, including all 14 games last season, starting once.As a Duck, Manning finished with 80 tackles, one for loss, and two interceptions. His second pick came in the Big Ten Championship Game, a win over Penn State.
He also had 14 defended passes. But at 5-10 and just 180 pounds, Manning is going to have to put in the work and time in order to make the Falcons Week 1 roster. Hopefully, he gets a decent look in team camp and during the preseason so Manning can make an impression.
Even if he's put on the practice squad to begin with, Manning could have a chance to play down the road.Oregon CB Dontae Manning signing with Atlanta Falcons as UDFA, per league— James Crepea (@JamesCrepea) April 26, 2025Contact/Follow @Ducks_Wire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Oregon Ducks news, notes, and opinions. This article originally appeared on Ducks Wire: 2025 NFL draft: Oregon DB Dontae Manning signs with Atlanta Falcons.
