WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — A new coffee shop in Williamsville is bringing a whole new taste and the vibe to the village.
"Yemen is very unique when it comes to its coffee, the culture, the tradition of it, and the history of it. It's very, very deep," Fatim Rashed told 2 On Your Side. He is the president of the group that brought Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Company to Main Street last fall.
"Our goal is to actually bring you the best coffee and the best taste that exists, but also share the culture at the same time," Rashed explained. This is the franchise's first location in the Buffalo area. "They actually have their own farms, they grow their own beans, they harvest them, they dry them themselves.
One team," Rashed said. "They actually ship them over, roast them and bring them over to their shops." Shipping is something Rashed knows all about.
He spent twelve years as a merchant marine before becoming a local entrepreneur. A post shared by @qamaria716 "It's something that I love to do, that I have a passion for," he said. "I wanted to do something that I enjoyed, and some great partners got together and liked the idea, and we worked on it, and here we are.
" They serve a full menu of specialty coffees, teas, lattes, and Yemini pastries, including honeycomb and sabaya. Qamaria Yemini Coffee Company is open seven days a week, including into the late night hours. They stay open until 11 p.
m. during the week and 1 a.m.
on the weekends. "When we started we used to open until 10," Rashed said. "We've just been pushing it later and later.
Right now we're closing at 1, and still it's full.".
