Firefighters from the Abelemkpe branch of the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to the fire, which started on the top floor of a building, consuming bedding materials estimated to be worth thousands of cedis. com, the victim reportedly collapsed upon seeing her shop engulfed in flames and was rushed to the Lapaz Community Hospital. The firefighters, however, managed to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby shops. The victim’s mother, a co-owner of the shop, explained to the media that she was on the ground floor when her grandchild raised the alarm about the blaze.



The Operations Officer at the Abelemkpe GNFS said investigations are underway to establish the cause of the fire. “We tried our best to ensure the fire didn’t extend to adjoining shops. Our men are still conducting investigations, so at the appropriate time, the owner will be invited to our station for the report,” he stated.
