Fifteen suspects have been remanded by an Oyo state Magistrate’s Court sitting in the Orile-Igbon magisterial district, Ogbomosho, over a recent attack on Aagba village. Oyo state Police command Public Relations Officer, CSP Adewale Osifeso, in a statement Sunday said the suspects were charged on offences bothering on criminal conspiracy, arson, armed robbery and murder. The statement added that the suspects were ordered by the court to be remanded at the medium security custodial centre in Abolongo, Oyo.
Oyo Police command in the statement listed those arrested in connection with the attack on the Aagba village as Olayiwola Adisa, Shittu Waliu, Ibrahim Shareef, Shittu Ibrahim, Gabriel Aderinto, Oyetunde Kazeem, Bakare Sikiru, Babatunde Raimi, Adewuyi Emmanuel, Aderemi Kunle, Salawudeen Ismail, Jimoh Damilare, Oyebamiji Tunji, Ayankolade Femi, and Ogunleye Taiwo. “The suspects were arrested at various locations, including a thick forest around Ejigbo, where many of them had fled for refuge in order to escape arrest. Investigation into the case is ongoing, as the command’s operatives are actively pursuing other suspects linked to the incident but are currently at large.
” It added: “During the attack, nine houses were razed, and the entire village was sacked and left desolate. Additionally, a septuagenarian was viciously attacked and he died from injuries inflicted by the invaders.”.
