AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday confirmed that he got a call from the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attend the all party scheduled today in wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He said that Shah enquired about his whereabout and asked him to join the meet. He further said that this meet has been called for national interest and that he will leave at the earliest to attend it.

Earlier, the Hyderabad MP took to X and said that Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju informed him that the NDA government was thinking of inviting only parties with "five or 10 MPs". He further said that when asked why not parties with fewer MPs are invited, the Union Minister replied that the meeting would get "too long" and "joked" that the AIMIM leader's "voice is anyway, too loud". "Your own party (BJP) does not have a majority.

Whether it is a party with 1 MP or a 100, they were both elected by Indians and deserve to be heard on such an important matter. This is not a political issue, it is a national issue. Everyone must be heard.

I urge Narendra Modi to make this a real ALL Party Meeting, every party with an MP in Parliament must be invited," he posted on X. Additionally, Owaisi questioned the absence of security personnel at the attack site and how did they cross border from Pakistan. "A place where there were so many tourists, there was not even one police personnel, or a CRPF camp.

The Quick Reaction Team (QRT) took over an hour to reach the spot. And these people shot people after asking about their faith. They came from Pakistan, and Pakistan supports them.

How did they cross the border? Who is responsible for it? They could also reach Srinagar if they reached Pahalgam. Justice would only prevail when accountability is fixed..

. We condemn the terror attack," he said. The Centre will brief leaders of various political parties on the Pahalgam terror attack and hear their views at the meeting to be held on Thursday evening.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the meeting..
