Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, April 27, vowed that the perpetrators and conspirators behind the deadly Pahalgam terror attack would face the strictest punishment, assuring that justice would be served to the victims and their families. Addressing the nation in his 119th episode of Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister said the solidarity of Indians in the war against terrorism is the country’s biggest strength. Modi expressed his deepest grief over the attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, in which most of them were tourists — and said every Indian is seething with anger at the heinous act.
Modi said the attack showed the desperation and cowardice of terrorists and their mentors, especially at a time when peace was returning to Kashmir, tourism was seeing a record surge, democracy was getting stronger, and new opportunities were opening up for the youth.
