Colorado folks, it's time to put on your outdoor gear and bring the family spirit to Riverbend Park in Palisade. According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, they're rolling out an event that spells F-U-N for the entire family. Set your calendars for April 26, from 10 a.

m. to 2 p.m.



, for the family Cast, Blast, and Wildlife Viewing event, where you can indulge in a hands-on crash course in fishing, shooting, and wildlife viewing, no experience required.For those looking to cast their first line or take aim for the first time, CPW's event is a dead ringer for a perfect opportunity to pick up new outdoor skills. With equipment provided on-site, nothing is stopping you.

"This is a great opportunity for kids and families to try out new outdoor activities and get some hands-on instruction, all while enjoying time outside," said District Wildlife Manager Christina French, as per Colorado Parks and Wildlife. But don't lug your firearms over, all shooting equipment will be happily provided by CPW.There's more than just the thrill of the fish bite or bullseye.

Attendees over the age of 16 hoping to join in on the fishing must remember to have a fishing license on hand. Yet, the real show-stealer might just be the touch-a-fish truck, ripe for those unafraid to get a bit handsy with Colorado River's native fish, including the endangered razorback suckers, puckering up for a kiss is optional, of course..
