Pepsi brings its Pepsi Challenge to Coca-Cola's home turf in Atlanta, offering blind taste tests and free beverages.

Pepsi rolls out its Pepsi Challenge in Atlanta, aiming to outshine Coca-Cola on its own turf. Just in time for National Have a Coke Day today, residents of the city will have a chance to participate in blind taste tests between Pepsi Zero Sugar and Coke Zero Sugar. FOX 5 Atlanta reported that the Pepsi Challenge will be stationed at various locations across the city from today through Sunday.

In a move that's sure to stir the pot of inter-cola rivalry, Pepsi claims that in every market visited since February, consumers have preferred Pepsi Zero Sugar 100% of the time. According to the Atlanta-based event itinerary, the challenge will take place at The Interlock and Colony Square, among other venues. Additionally, a Pepsi-branded vehicle will be making surprise sampling stops across the city today and tomorrow, as detailed by What Now Atlanta .

As part of the promotion, participants will take part in a three-step process where they will first try two unmarked cups containing the beverages and then pick which one they believe tastes better. Regardless of which soft drink participants choose, they'll walk away with a free 20 oz. Pepsi Zero Sugar is sticking to the celebratory theme of the challenge.

Pepsi is offering free at-home Pepsi Challenge kits for those who can't be there in person. Starting today at noon, kits can be claimed on Pepsi's TikTok page with proof of purchase of two 10-packs of Pepsi Zero Sugar Mini Cans, while supplies last, FOX 5 Atlanta reports . This challenge, which has been a feature of Pepsi’s marketing strategy since 1975, marks its 50th anniversary this year, with the company touring & bringing the taste test to a new generation.
