Permission to serve liquor in IT parks; operation time till 12 midnight; license fee of Rs 10 lakhs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An order has been issued in the state of Kerala granting permission to serve liquor in IT parks. Government-owned and private IT parks can apply for a license. A fee of Rs 10 lakh will be charged for the license.

Liquor can be sold to official visitors and guests of IT companies. Only one license will be allowed per institution. Foreign liquor can be purchased only from those with FL 9 license.



Liquor should not be served on the first day of every month and on other dry days fixed by the government. The working hours are from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Liquor will be served only to employees of the parks.

Complaints can be filed against those who serve substandard liquor. Liquor shops will operate in conjunction with companies, but will not be connected to offices. The order stipulates that there should be separate paths to this place.
