In this regard, the Samalaju-based operation points out that its philosophy has always been rooted in valuing life and creating positive change in the communities where it operates.It is actively broadening its footprint in Sarawak by undertaking strategic projects such as the ‘EMM Triple Manganese’ initiative and the bamboo plantation development.These projects align with the company’s goal of fostering sustainable development and driving economic progress within the region.
“As a Japanese investors’ company, Pertama Ferroalloys is proud to serve as a bridge for win-win cooperation between Sarawak and Japan,” the company said in a statement.“We remain committed to fostering mutual growth, knowledge exchange, and long-term partnerships that contribute to the state’s industrial development and community well-being.”Adding on, the company said it was honoured to be part of the ‘Rindok Raya’ celebration hosted by the Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) in Kuching recently, where Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg also attended.
“The Premier’s attendance underscored the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in uplifting local communities,” said Pertama Ferroalloys, adding that as part of the programme, the company made a donation to Peryatim Kuching, a charitable home for orphans and underprivileged children.“The contribution is expected to benefit 82 children currently under the care of the institution, supporting their daily needs, educational resources, and overall well-being,” it added.The mock cheque was officially handed over by Pertama Ferroalloys assistant deputy general manager Jack Tan.
Pertama Ferroalloys is Malaysia’s first large-scale manganese alloys and ferrosilicon smelting plant.Established in December 2010, the company operates in the Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu.The group specialises in producing manganese alloy products for the global steel industry, contributing to sustainable growth and industrial development in the region.
