A PERVERT has avoided prison despite collecting indecent images of child and animal sex abuse. Helder Fatima , of Northwich, was arrested after a police raid at his William Street home address in April 2024. A number of electronic devices containing the images were seized during a search of the property, leading to the 38-year-old being charged with multiple offences.

At Chester Magistrates' Court, on February 18, Fatima pleaded guilty to one count of possessing indecent images of animals; one count of possessing indecent images of children; and three counts of making indecent images of children over the period of 2012 to 2024. Fatima also pleaded guilty to sharing a Category A image on one occasion over the same period. At Chester Crown Court last week he avoided an immediate prison term when he was sentenced to 16 months, suspended for two years, and 200 hours of unpaid work by Judge Steven Everett.

Judge Everett, the Honorary Recorder of Chester, said he is to be subject to the requirements of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years..
