Joel Dahmen was on the verge of winning the Corales Puntacana Championship for a second time.

Joel Dahmen has provided an update on his personal life following his disappointment at the Corales Puntacana Championship. Despite being in a strong position to become the tournament's first two-time champion, Dahmen ended his final round with three consecutive bogeys, resulting in a five-way tie for second place and missing out on the £538,000 grand prize by just one stroke. However, during an appearance on Dan on Golf , Dahmen revealed some exciting news away from the golf course.

The PGA Tour golfer announced that he and his wife Lona are expecting their second child. "I guess this might be the time and place for it, Dan, we are pregnant," Dahmen told Dan Rapaport. "We were supposed to be done.

" He went on to describe their upcoming arrival as a "We had to go through IVF for the first one, struggled having another one through IVF and this one is a little miracle baby. I mean we knew what we were doing, it wasn't like this random accident, like a high school deal, but we just didn't think it was possible, and it's quite the surprise." The couple's first child, Riggs William, entered the world in January 2023, with the pair now unexpectedly expecting their second.

Dahmen provided a humorous take on the surprise, stating: "We were starting to give away a lot of our baby stuff. We added a dog to our family in December, which means you're also done having kids, because you can't have a baby and a puppy, it's a nightmare, and here we are, going through it all. "So we're super excited, the baby's due in November.

We don't know what it is, but yeah, to the world out there, Dahmen baby number two is coming." Dahmen has achieved three top-10 finishes in 12 tournaments this year and pocketed £697k on the PGA Tour for 2025. Lifetime, he's racked up £10.

25million in career earnings. Famously after clinching his PGA title in 2021, Dahmen remarked: "It's so hard to win a golf tournament." These words took on a new context when he narrowly missed his chance at a second victory at the Corales Puntacana Championship recently.

Reflecting on his performance, Dahmen admitted to the PGA: "I think I'm in a little bit of shock, honestly. It's not how you win a golf tournament, I'll tell you that. I don't deserve to win it.

You know, bogeying the last three is inexcusable. "This one could take a while to get over. It's one of those things, you learn more in defeat unfortunately.

I don't know what I'm going to do yet. "Like I said, I still think I'm in a little bit of shock. Felt like I was in a good head space.

I was in a good head space but sometimes your body doesn't cooperate. This one's going to sting for a while." This article first appeared on Mirror US .
