ISLAMABAD - Islamabad police have arrested an accused wanted in a double murder case registered at the Loi Bher police station in Islamabad. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq told the media that accused Muhammad Sadaqat son of Noor Muhammad, a resident of Mouza Muhammad Khan, Basti Dhamma Awan, Zahir Pir Tehsil Khanpur, District Rahim Yar Khan has been arrested in connection with the murder of two women on April 5, 2025 in Swan Garden in the jurisdiction of Loi Bher police station. In the tragic incident, two women were murdered at House number 8, street number 10, Block A, Swan Garden and a case was registered at Police Station Loi Bher; FIR number 253/25 under sections 302/324 PPC.
The complainant told the police that she resides in her house with her mother, younger sister, and a cousin. On the night of the incident, Muhammad Sadaqat son of Noor Muhammad, a servant of the house owner, came to the house and killed her mother and sister with a knife and injured her with a marble piece before fleeing the scene. DIG Islamabad told the media that special police teams under his supervision arrested the accused.
The accused is currently at physical remand, and further investigation is ongoing. SSP Investigation Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan, SSP CTD Hamza Humayun, SP Swan Zone Pari Gul Tareen, and SP CIA were also present on the occasion. Hamza Khan murder case Coming to the murder of Hamza Khan, the DIG said that they have arrested three accused; Syed Arif Hussain son of Syed Muhammad Shah, resident of village Chinyal, tehsil and district Mansehra, Syed Saber Hussain Shah son of Mubarak Hussain Shah, resident of village Chinyal, tehsil and district Mansehra, and Saqlain son of Syed Saber Hussain Shah, resident of village Chinyal, tehsil and district Mansehra in connection with the murder.
DIG Islamabad said that on March 15, 2025, the victim’s elder brother informed the police that his younger brother had gone out of the house in the morning and had not returned yet nor been contacted. The police registered FIR Number 248/25 under section 356 PPC at Police Station Aabpara and started the investigation. He further said that on March 19, 2025, upon receiving the CDR of the abductee, his last location was found in Mansehra, while three mobile phones of the abductee were last located in sector G-10 Islamabad.
Using modern technology, the police recovered all three mobile phones of the victim from jungle of the Project Mor area in Islamabad. During the investigation, it was found that the victim had been in contact with the accused Arif Hussain Shah, a retired SP of Islamabad police. The complainant named the accused Arif Hussain Shah in his testimony, upon which the police arrested the accused and obtained physical remand to interrogate him.
During the interrogation, the accused disclosed that he, along with his brother-in-law Syed Saber Hussain Shah and nephew Saqlain Shah, murdered the victim at his house in village Chinyal, district Mansehra, and buried the body in a pit in Saber Hussain Shah’s courtyard. Based on the accused’s disclosure, police teams raided the location and recovered the victim’s body. Sections of murder were added to the case, and all three accused involved in the incident have been arrested, with the investigation ongoing.
A charge sheet will be presented in the competent court based on solid evidence to ensure the accused receive a deserved punishment, the DIG added. Additionally, the police officer said that the local police have arrested four accused in Ishtiaq Ahmed Abbasi (social worker) murder case. Those arrested include Amir known alias Ameri son of Nawaz, caste Chadhar, resident of Mandi Bahauddin, Miana Gondal), Riaz Chadhar, Amir alias Mundri and Zulfiqar.
The DIG said that on April 9, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in the Pandorian area of the Khanna police station, involving the murder of social worker Ishtiaq Ahmed Abbasi. The police registered case number 501/25 under sections 302/34 PPC regarding the incident..
