Police are investigating the death of a much-loved Yarrawonga woman who died after being hit by a car on Friday night. The ABC has permission from the family of 46-year-old Kylie Sanders to identify the former pathologist and publish photographs of her. Police said Ms Sanders was killed outside her home in Hargrave Court in Yarrawonga on Friday night after she tried to intervene in an argument.
Police say Ms Sanders left her property (right) to intervene in a dispute. Police said a man got into a car a short time later and collided with Ms Sanders as he left the scene. CPR was performed on the 46-year-old, but she died at the scene.
Police said the vehicle was found in Shepparton and a 26-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning. Ms Sanders came from Rutherglen before moving to Yarrawonga and working in the border town of Corowa. Flowers have been laid outside Ms Sanders' home.
Police said a Tatura man had been charged with breach of intervention order and threats to kill as the investigation remained ongoing. They have not charged him in relation to Ms Sanders' death, and he was released on bail. He is set to appear in Shepparton Magistrates Court on June 5.
