For most Americans, today (April 15) is likely to be consumed by Tax Day. Stressing through all those spreadsheets is enough to work up an appetite, and a few generous eateries are stepping up to sweeten the deal. In fact , you could grab your lunch for a single cent.
Burger King is offering customers a regular cheeseburger for just one cent (plus tax) when they make any purchase worth $1 or more. The burger normally costs around $2.59.
It includes a flame-grilled patty, melted American cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard, all tucked inside a sesame seed bun. To get the deal, you must be a Royal Perks member and submit your order through the BK app or its website. Not sure what to make as your qualifying purchase? If you’re trying to keep things cheap after seeing your tax return total, a few low-cost menu items help you hit that $1 minimum.
A small soda or four-piece Cheesy Tots, priced around $1.50 and $2, will do the trick. They’re not the only spot where you’ll see Tax Day savings today, either.
For a sweeter treat, Krispy Kreme is back with one of its most popular offers: a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for the sales tax price when you buy another dozen. It’s not the first time Burger King has introduced flash savings . Last month, it did something similar for Pi Day and the end of daylight savings.
Pi day, on March 14, is named as its date is the same as the first three digits of Pi. "Losing an hour of sleep is a Royal pain, so for the second year in a row, Burger King is giving Royal Perks Members a special way to power through the early mornings of Daylight Savings with a full week of breakfast deals – no snooze button required," the company said at the time. "Since 1978, BK has been the morning destination for Guests to enjoy savory breakfast favorites, including its signature Crossian'wich, delicious French Toast Sticks, hot fresh coffee, and more.
"Starting Sunday, March 9, Royal Perks Members can brighten up their mornings – and even count down to Pi Day – with a full week of daily offers.".
