A FIRE that broke out at a poultry farm in Barangay Lacson, Calinan District, Davao City on Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025, caused an estimated P15 million in damages, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred at a breeder’s farm, where the fire quickly spread across a 2,000-square-meter area. According to the Davao City Fire District, the blaze started shortly after 9 a.

m. and prompted an immediate response from the Calinan Fire Station. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the flames, which reached the second alarm level.



The fire was then declared under control and officially put out at 10:22 a.m. Authorities said that no injuries or casualties were reported, as workers were able to evacuate safely before the fire intensified.

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection-Davao Region (BF-Davao) which is currently conducting a thorough probe to determine what triggered the incident. Authorities have not ruled out electrical issues or other accidental causes. BFP-Davao said that the poultry farm, which serves as a breeding facility, suffered significant losses in infrastructure and livestock.
