President Abinader to visit four Dominican Republic–Haiti border crossings today

Santo Domingo.- This Thursday, April 24, President Luis Abinader, accompanied by Defense Minister Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, will embark on a comprehensive tour of the Dominican Republic’s border with Haiti. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Dajabón, the president will inspect the newly erected border wall, address the press, and inaugurate a reforestation project aimed at restoring the fragile frontier ecosystem. From there, he will travel south to Elías Piña to review key infrastructure and security checkpoints before proceeding to Jimaní, where he will evaluate recent enhancements to border control facilities. The journey will conclude in Pedernales, where President Abinader will visit several hotels in the Cabo Rojo area, highlighting tourism development as part of the region’s economic strategy.
