Prince Harry is currently in the middle of an ongoing legal battle against the U.K. Home Office over his security arrangements when he visits the country

Prince Harry is "cautiously optimistic" on the results of his legal battle with the U.K. Home Office , according to a source If the Duke of Sussex were to win his appeal, the source suggested it could result in a trip to England for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet .

The dispute began in 2020 after it was decided that, following Harry's decision to step down from the royal family and move to America, his entitlement to taxpayer-funded security in the U.K. would be changed.

Harry has argued that taking away his automatic U.K. protection makes it dangerous to travel there with Meghan Markle and their two kids.

As a consequence, the Duke of Sussex has taken steps to challenge this by going through the appeal process, with the case having recently been presented before the court. In the hearing, Harry's attorney said, "One must not forget the human dimension of this case. There is a person who is sitting behind me whose safety, whose security and whose life is at stake.

" While the verdict of Harry's appeal is still pending, he has consistently maintained that he will not expose his family to U.K. risks until he's assured of their safety.

Despite Harry's multiple trips to his home country since leaving the royal family, Meghan and their children have rarely been seen in the U.K. — their latest trip was in 2022.

Last year, in an interview for ITV's documentary Tabloids on Trial, Harry didn't hold back on his concerns for the safety of his family. In a candid moment, he revealed, "It's still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read." The Duke of Sussex continued, "And whether it's a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me.

It's one of the reasons why I won't bring my wife back to this country." When Harry travels back to the U.K.

, Meghan remains at their home in Montecito, California with Archie and Lilibet. The youngsters are being raised away from the royal limelight in America, something Harry appreciates deeply. During an appearance at The New York Times DealBook Online Summit last year, Harrysaid, "I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here.

It's a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live." He added nostalgically, hinting at his late mother's influence, "I feel as though it's the life that my mum wanted for me. To be able to do the things I'm able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn't be able to do in the U.

K. - it's huge. That is a fantastic opportunity and I'm hugely grateful for that.

" According to an insider speaking to People Magazine , those close to Harry's legal affairs maintain a "cautiously optimistic" stance regarding the success of his legal challenge over his security rights in the U.K. Click here to follow the Mirror US on Google News to stay up to date with all the latest news, sport and entertainment stories.
