WAVES 2025 is set to feature a star-studded guest list including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, and more. Priyanka Chopra has extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support to the Indian entertainment industry, calling the upcoming WAVES Summit 2025 a “bold step" and “historic" moment for the country. The World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) will be held from May 1 to 4 at Mumbai’s Jio World Centre.
Set to be a major confluence of global storytellers, WAVES aims to foster innovation, creativity and collaboration in film, series, gaming, and digital entertainment. The event will bring together over 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300 companies, 350 startups, and leaders from over 90 countries. Taking to her official Instagram handle, Priyanka shared a video message addressing the importance of the summit.
“Hello everyone. I wanted to take a moment to talk about something truly historic that’s happening right now. For the first time ever, India is hosting the World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit, WAVES, in Mumbai from May 1st to the 4th.
Now this isn’t just another conference. WAVES is India’s bold step onto the world stage. A signal that our creative economy is not just thriving, but ready to lead," she said.
She credited PM Modi and other government bodies for supporting the initiative. “And today WAVES is doing exactly that, thanks to the vision of our esteemed Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi Ji, and the incredible support of the various ministries working to give media, entertainment and the creator economy the true industry recognition that it deserves," Priyanka added. She spoke about how WAVES represents unity and scale in India’s creative sectors.
