Washington give Josh Conerly a four-year contract with a fifth-year club option worth nearly $15.7 million and a bonus of over $8 million.

Now we know there's some common sense in the Washington, D.C. area.

With the 29th pick of the 2025 NFL draft, the Washington Commanders selected Oregon offensive lineman Josh Conerly, Jr. It's a pick the Commanders shouldn't have to regret. As a first-round pick, Conerly will receive the standard first-round contract of four years with a fifth-year option worth $15,681,094 and an $8,044,432 signing bonus on top of that.

It's a great ending for Conerly as a Duck, who was the first of many five-star recruits to sign with Dan Lanning as the Oregon head coach. He played like a five-star recruit and didn't disappoint. Conerly even caught a touchdown pass at Colorado, which delighted the Ducks to no end.

As a freshman, Conerly didn't start, but he was impactful in his 115 snaps. But in 2023 and 2024, Conerly was a different animal for the Ducks as he played nearly 1,000 offensive snaps in each season, Conerly was a star on a Joe Moore-nominated line in two straight seasons, and in 2024, he was one of the best tackles in football and very deserving of his first-round status.Conerly is also the second Duck to be drafted in the first round of this year's NFL draft, as the Pittsburgh Steelers selected defensive tackle Derrick Harmon with the 21st pick earlier in the night.
