Rancon Cars has officially launched the first locally assembled Proton X70 SUV in Bangladesh at the Proton Bangladesh Rancon Showroom in Capital's Tejgaon area, on 30 April 2025. According to Rancon, all units of the Proton X70 are now assembled at the Rancon Auto Industries Limited facility located in Bhawanipur, Kashimpur, Gazipur, under the Rancon Industrial Park. The vehicle is now available for purchase at authorised Proton showrooms in Dhaka and Chattogram and will also be showcased at the upcoming 18th Dhaka Motor Show 2025 which is starting from tomorrow.
The Proton X70 is a C-segment compact crossover SUV powered by a 1.5 L TGDi turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with manual mode, and fuel capacity of 60 litres. It features a design with Proton's signature 'Infinite Weave' grille, Intelligent High Beam Control (IHBC) headlamps, LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), auto rain-sensing wipers, and a panoramic sunroof.
The SUV also includes 19-inch alloy rims and 200 mm ground clearance. Inside, the vehicle comes with Nappa leather seating and a wide array of features including a touchscreen infotainment system with 'Hi PROTON' voice control, online navigation, music streaming, weather updates, smartphone connectivity, and multiple USB ports. It also supports keyless entry, drive mode selection, a 360-degree camera, and dual-zone automatic climate control with N95 filters.
According to Rancon, the 5-seater Proton X70 is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to enhance safety and comfort, tailored for Bangladesh's often unpredictable road conditions. Features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Hill Hold Assist (HHA), and Hill Descent Control (HDC). The vehicle also comes with six SRS airbags.
