The third flyover connecting Goyal Ganga Chowk to Prakash Inamdar Chowk is 70% complete and should be ready in the next two months. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is finally getting ready to open the city’s longest flyover, stretching 2.12 km from Vithalwadi to Funtime Theater on Sinhagad Road.
The flyover is expected to be open to the public by the last week of April, as per Hindustan Times. Though the main construction work was finished by the end of March, streetlights and signboards are still being installed. This delay in opening has upset many locals, who believe politics is holding back the flyover’s launch.
To speed things up, Pune municipal commissioner Rajendra Bhosale personally inspected the flyover on a two-wheeler and gave officials eight days to complete the remaining tasks. This flyover is part of a bigger ₹118 crore project, which includes three new flyovers between Rajaram Bridge and Funtime Theater on Sinhagad Road: First Flyover: The 650-metre bridge at Rajaram Bridge Chowk is already in use. Second Flyover: The 2.
12 km stretch from Vithalwadi to Funtime Theater is almost ready. Third Flyover: Work between Goyal Ganga Chowk and Prakash Inamdar Chowk is about 70 percent done and should be completed in two months. MP Supriya Sule shared a video on social media, urging PMC to open the flyover immediately instead of waiting for a big ceremony.
She pointed out how this bridge could ease the traffic woes on Sinhagad Road. Residents along Sinhagad Road are particularly frustrated. Tushar Potphode, a local commuter, shared, “Traffic here is horrible.
If the bridge is ready, why make us wait for a ceremony? It’s our money that built it – we deserve to use it.".
