Pvt luxury AC bus catches fire on flyover near Khed Shivapur; none injured

1 2 3 Pune: A private luxury AC bus catches fire on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway around 12pm on Thursday near Khed-Shivapur. According to the Rajgad police, as the bus started climbing the Sasewadi flyover, passengers noticed fumes and fire at the rear of the bus. They alerted the driver, who stopped the bus and passengers alighted safely with all their luggage.

No injury was reported. The police further said the bus was heading towards Pune from Kolhapur with 30 passengers. A fire tender from a nearby private company reached the spot, but failed to douse the flames.



Two fire tenders of the PMRDA fire brigade reached the spot and extinguished the fire within 30 minutes. For almost two hours, the vehicular movement on the highway was disrupted. The vehicular movement was streamline around 1.
