Organised by Qatar University in collaboration with Mubadara for Social Impact, the summit will bring together national and international stakeholders to explore the evolving role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in today’s digital era. This year’s theme, “Sustainability in the Digital Age,” emphasises how emerging technologies can be leveraged to promote sustainable and ethical businesspractices.

Speaking at a press conference hosted by the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University, Professor Rana Sobh, dean of the college and chair of the conference steering committee, said the summit will showcase how innovations like artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital transformation are influencing the way companies engage in CSR. She added that the event provides a dynamic platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and highlighting successful CSR initiatives both locally and globally. Dr Saif Ali Al Hajri, president of Mubadara for Social Impact, noted that the summit continues to grow as a national platform for creating meaningful dialogue between public and private entities.

He stressed the importance of encouraging corporations to take a more active role in social development through initiatives such as the Qatar CSR Awards, which recognise excellence and innovation in corporate responsibility. The summit will feature a wide range of activities, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions that focus on best CSR practices and strategies. Participation is expected from influential international bodies such as UNESCO, which joins as the Global Partner, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) as the Knowledge Partner.

The MENA Business Schools Alliance for Sustainability is on board as the Academic Partner. Several prominent companies have extended their support to the event, including Qatar National Bank (QNB) as the Official Bank, along with Katara Hospitality, Qetaifan Projects, Aamal, Carrefour, and Apparel Group as key sponsors. During the press meet, various corporate leaders reiterated their commitment to CSR.

Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, representing Qetaifan Projects, said the island stands as a benchmark in sustainable urban development. Rashid Al Mansoori, CEO of Aamal, highlighted how businesses play a vital role in creating long-term positive impact in society. From Katara Hospitality, Mohamed Al Asmakh emphasised the company’s focus on nurturing local talent and engaging meaningfully with the community.

Abdullah Arbabi of QNB noted that CSR is a core element of the bank’s partnership with the community, while Salma Abaoubida of Apparel Group shared the organization’s deep-rooted belief in ethical practices and environmental sustainability. IFP Qatar General Manager Haidar Mshaimesh stated that the summit is not only a platform for showcasing CSR excellence but also a call to integrate social and environmental responsibility into the heart of business strategies, especially in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As part of the broader 12th Qatar CSR National Program, the event will culminate with the Qatar CSR Awards Gala Dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Doha on April 30.

This prestigious ceremony will honor 40 winners selected from over 140 submissions, celebrating achievements across diverse CSR categories.
