Rain and thunderstorms return Friday

Moderate to heavy rain at times mainly later Friday night.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — We'll continue to have summer-like conditions for the rest of the week, but the rain returns on Friday.

High temperatures will continue to be in the 70s into Friday. TRACK: Storm Team 2 Radar The weather gets a bit more active Friday with scattered showers arriving by later in the day, with a high 73, and a few thunderstorms into the night. The heaviest rain looks to move in later in the evening and overnight, with heavy downpours expected as a cold front moves through.



Low temperatures are expected to be near 50 degrees. There will be some lingering showers early morning Saturday, then some clearing and cooler temperatures in the 50s. The weather improves on Sunday with sunny skies and temperatures near 60 degrees.

The warmer weather is going to be sticking around for a bit. Next week, we can expect to see temperatures in the 70s to even near 80 degrees the first half of the week. We're watching a potential rain system with rain and thunderstorms later Tuesday possible with a stronger cold front.
