A rare bird has been spotted at a nature reserve in Arundel. Yvonne Kinasz captured the spectacled eider in photographs at the WWT Arundel Wetland Centre on Thursday. They showed the large male sea duck displaying its impressive plumage and being hen pecked by a female.

The males are recognisable by their distinctive white eye patches which give them their name. They dive in the sea for food, eating molluscs at sea and aquatic insects, crustaceans and plant material while at their breeding grounds.
