Recovery efforts underway after person goes missing in Lady Bird Lake

AUSTIN, Texas — First responders have launched a recovery effort as they try to find a person who went missing in Lady Bird Lake Saturday evening. According to Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS), officials responded to the scene shortly after 6 p.m.

after receiving calls reporting an adult who went underwater near I-35 and didn't resurface. The Austin Fire Department said the person was described as a struggling paddle boarder without a life vest in the water. At around 6:45 p.
