Read More India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Thursday met a young fan, as the child engaged in a heart-to-heart chat with his cricketing idol. With excited eyes, the boy requested Pant to sign his bat in a heartfelt moment, which was gleefully fulfilled by the star wicketkeeper. The boy’s next request, though, was filled with innocence as he requested Pant for a pizza, with a shy smile.
Moved by the simplicity of the request, Pant arranged for a hot pizza to be delivered just for the young kid, as the latter’s face was filled with joy. The interaction was not limited to an autograph and pizza. The child, a southpaw like Pant as well, even showed the latter his version of the iconic scoop shot.
Meanwhile, Pant hasn’t had a great time as batter and captain of the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. He has scored 103 runs in six matches at a dismal average of 17.16.
Under his captaincy, Lucknow have won four of their seven matches and are currently placed fifth on the points table, thankfully with a positive net run rate. Other than a 63-run knock against the Chennai Super Kings, Pant has registered scores of 0, 15, 2, 2 and 21 as a poor run has continued. Moreover, a video of him and Lucknow owner Sanjeev Goenka went viral after the loss in the first game against his former team, Delhi Capitals, where the duo was seen discussing the defeat, sparking memories of Goenka’s heated discussion with KL Rahul after a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad last year.
In 12 knocks against the Chennai Super Kings, Pant has scored 438 runs at an average of 48.66, with a strike rate of 152.1.
He has scored four fifties as well. This is the second-most runs Pant has scored against a franchise in the Indian Premier League, behind his 551 runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pant has struggled against spin in IPL 2025, scoring only 31 runs in 43 games and being dismissed twice.
He has scored runs against spin at a strike rate of 72, whereas he has made 72 runs in 56 deliveries against pace. LSG play their next game against the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, April 19, in Jaipur..
