New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) approved the new name for a road in Kailash Colony, south Delhi, as Bodofa Upendranath Brahma Marg . This honours the distinguished social reformer and leader from the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam, following home minister Amit Shah's declaration. MCD Mayor issued the authorisation on April 3 to rename the stretch from Lala Lajpat Rai Marg near Kailash Colony metro station/A-18 to Lala Lajpat Rai Marg near A-5/A-6, Kailash Colony.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed on X, on Saturday: "My sincere gratitude to Hon'ble Union home minister Amit Shah for taking forward the proposal of naming a road in the heart of Delhi as Bodofa Upendranath Brahma Marg. MCD approved the road from A5-A18 Kailash Colony as Bodofa Upendranath Brahma Marg, which will be dedicated shortly to the nation." tnn.
