The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, for questioning in connection with an ongoing money laundering probe related to a land deal in Haryana's Shikohpur. Vadra, 56, has been asked to appear before the agency on Tuesday, April 15, reported PTI. This is the second summon issued in the case, with an earlier one dated April 8, which he did not comply with.

The case pertains to a land acquisition deal in Shikohpur village which has come under scrutiny for alleged irregularities during the Congress-led government in Haryana. He marched from his residence to the ED office. "There is nothing in the case.

"I don't know what is the fault. It is a political vendetta, only old accusations, rubbish, this is the misuse of the agencies," Vadra was quoted as saying by PTI, as he left his residence for ED office. "Whenever I will speak up for people and make them heard, they will try to suppress me.

ED raids Rajasthan Congress leader's home In a separate development, the ED also conducted searched at the residence of the Rajasthan Congress leader and former state minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas. "The BJP government should not do politics through ED," he told reporters outside his home, as per PTI. "I have done nothing wrong and I am not afraid of the ED," he asserted.

Multiple premises are being searched in connection with this case, though further details are awaited. DLF-Vadra controversy resurfaces The probe has roots in earlier allegations made in 2011, when Arvind Kejriwal, then an anti-corruption activist, claimed that Vadra, brother-in-law of Rahul Gandhi, had benefited from an interest-free loan of ₹65 crore from DLF limited and secured favourable land deals in exchange for political favours, reported Nedws18. DLF, in its response at the time, stated that all transactions with Vadra were part of regular business practices.

Vadra, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and DLF have been under the scanner of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a related case.

This inquiry focusses on a 50-acre land deal in Amipur village dating back to 2008, from which Vadra allegedly made unlawful gains exceeding ₹50 crore. The deal was executed during the Hooda-led Congress govt in the state. "23,000 document is not easy to gather.
