November 7, 1937 - January 14, 2025 Ron Grachan, age 87, of Superior Montana, passed away on January 14th after taking a fall. He was born on November 7th, 1937, in Anaconda Montana to John and Mildred Grachan. Ron was the youngest of two children.

His father worked at the Anaconda Copper company for many years. Ron was preceded in death by his Wife of 59 years Fran Grachan in June of 2021. He is survived by his children Catherine and her husband Jon, John and Stephen along with his wife Lisa.



Grand children Kristin Salvino, Jordan Hughes, Cory Samuelson, Ryen Grachan, great grandchildren Ashton Helm, Evan Helm and Sadie Samuelson. He owned and operated Ron's Auto Refinishers from (1965 1997). He was always generous to others.

In the winter he plowed the road not just for himself but for all the neighbors. He was a do-it-yourself person. If he could build it himself, he would.

When he moved to his property near Superior Montana, Ron and his brother-in-law Mike Svejkovsky built the home themselves. Every year there were several weekends that he would cut and chop firewood to use as the primary heating for his home, need at least 8 chords he would say. He set up hunting camps for elk hunting for many years.

Raised horses and grew and harvested hay. He was up early everyday during the summer changing the irrigation pipe so that the hay would grow. In his retirement years spent countless hours maintaining and improving his property near Superior MT.

He also had a passion for woodworking, football and motor racing. He rarely missed any NASCAR races. He sponsored race cars at Miller Creek Raceway for several years.

Ron was an Army veteran. A joint memorial for Ron and Fran will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 5001 Crackerville Road, Butte/Gregson MT. on April 26th at 1:00 in the afternoon.
