“This event is always a powerful reminder of our community’s heart,” said Kyna Grubb, executive director of Rowan Helping Ministries. “Every dollar raised helps us respond to growing needs in Rowan County and offers hope to our neighbors facing hardship.”This year’s event was planned by a dedicated volunteer committee led by co-chairs Melissa Yates and Janet Haynes, whose leadership helped shape a fun and memorable evening that showcased both the mission and momentum behind Rowan Helping Ministries.

First held in 2007, Pass the Plate raised $50,000 in its inaugural year and has grown to become the organization’s largest annual fundraiser. This year marked a special milestone as the event reached its pre-pandemic attendance levels. This year’s success was made possible by presenting sponsors Food Lion FEEDS and Missie and Greg Alcorn.

For nearly four decades, Rowan Helping Ministries has served the Rowan County community by providing emergency shelter, meals, housing programs, crisis assistance and supportive services.
